Re-Editing Blog: What didn't happen

 


There were many decisions I had to make when making suggestions for the editing. When planning out this production, I had ideas of what I wanted the transitions to look like. To achieve this, I did not want to use an app on an iPhone to edit our opening sequences. I feel that the platform used to edit means a lot. It can help with how smooth the video goes and it also helps to make the video look realistic. I wanted it to look like the movies. So, I purposely didn't want to use anything of that sort. Another thing that didn't happen was I didn't want too much editing to where it clashed with the story line. The editing is supposed to line up with what's going on. I didn't want too much on the screen. This puts more focus on the background and for the viewers. The titles are enough. I wanted the editing to be subtle but also match the theme. I also didn't want the titles to be on the screen for too long or short. They also needed to be in a font that match the genre. And they needed to be big enough to be legible to read. All these decision were made in the best interest of the production. Thankfully, these were inplemented from the beginning. So, it didn't need to be changed. Overall, the editing process was very smooth and not a hard process.

Title Research: Braindead (1992)

  What titles are displayed during the opening sequence? Titles that are displayed in the opening sequence are the title sequence names the director and who the movie was made by. Other titles that are shown are the names of actors that played in the movie. It also shows the people who made the music and other elements in the movie. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? Images that are prioritized in the film are army planes and I assume that it is at an army base. It also cuts to a town and a candy shop.  How does the film establish a feeling of the genre? At the beginning of the film, the first thing that is shown is someone getting hit and a horror type music is played. The creepy music sets the tone for the film because its a horror movie. The music sets the scene and builds the suspense for the movie. The title shown has blood dripping down from it and that shows that the film has a creepy, violent feeling.

Genre: Comedy  Common camera angles, movement, and shots:   A type of cams used in comedy films are wide shots. They are used to capture the whole scene and incorporate every element including characters, and the environment into the shot. They also provide the ability to show visual gags, reveal funny situations, and showcase physical comedy. Another type of cam is a close-up. Close-ups reveal facial expressions, reactions, and nuances that contribute to comedic timing and deliver. Lastly, another type of angle is a low angle. This helps employ the effects of comedic effects, making characters appear larger than life, and emphasizing physical comedy.  Common mis-en-scene:  Some mis-en-scenes that are used are exaggerated costumes.
