CCR

This is my CCR reflecting on my growth and perspective on my production! Enjoy!  How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?   How did your production skills develop throughout this project?  How did you integrate technologies - software, hardware, and online - in this project?

Re-Editing Blog: What didn't happen

Image
There were many decisions I had to make when making suggestions for the editing. When planning out this production, I had ideas of what I wanted the transitions to look like. To achieve this, I did not want to use an app on an iPhone to edit our opening sequences. I feel that the platform used to edit means a lot. It can help with how smooth the video goes and it also helps to make the video look realistic. I wanted it to look like the movies. So, I purposely didn't want to use anything of that sort. Another thing that didn't happen was I didn't want too much editing to where it clashed with the story line. The editing is supposed to line up with what's going on. I didn't want too much on the screen. This puts more focus on the background and for the viewers. The titles are enough. I wanted the editing to be subtle but also match the theme. I also didn't want the titles to be on the screen for too long or short. They also needed to be in a font that match the

Re-Editing Blog: Fixing the mistakes

When the correction was given, I replayed the opening sequence. When I re-watched it, I noticed what needed to be fixed right away. When the phone ringed, the background music cut off. When it came back in, it sounded choppy. So, the transition needed to be fixed. As mentioned previously, I am not the main editor. However, I loved giving suggestions to help make the production more realistic. In this case, I suggested that the music remains playing. Instead of it being loud when the phone rings, the volume will be lowered. The sound of the call will be the main priority. That way, the music never really left. The volume will just increase when the ringing noise ends.  This idea was put in place to allow for a smoother transition.  Other than that, I didn't find any other errors. My peer reviewers didn't mention anything else on the editing portion. When I replayed it over and over again, I also didn't see anything off about it. I feel as though, the editing, lighting, and

Re-Shoot Blog: What Didn't Happen

In terms of filming, I didn't have to refilm my scenes. It will be difficult to coordinate another day to film with my group members. All of us have busy schedules and I am only a teenager. I don't have a car yet so my transportation would be based on whether my parents are busy or not. This project is a group effort. So everyone had to be available. Also, I felt that the production looked great. I think the effect adds to the story line. Not everything is going to be perfect and that's okay. I am very happy with the results. The effort made to try to make the video look as creepy as possible was definitely a long planning process but it worked out. Another thing that didn't happen in terms of filming was having someone within the group film or act. I feel that having someone who knows nothing about the purpose of our production would just effect it negatively.  I wanted to be the main actor because I visually had the end result of the production in mind. There was a

Re-shoot Blog: Resorting to what we had

Image
In the last blog, it was mentioned that the camera quality looked dirty in a sense. This was because my phone is very cracked. The back is like shattered. The front also has a lot of damage. Most of the cracks on my phone are not my fault. However, I am a very clumsy girl. The only thing that isn't cracked yet is the camera. If the camera was cracked, I would just get a new phone because the video taking quality would be poor. For this production, we had no choice but to use my phone. This was because one of my group members' phone had no storage. That phone wouldn't let us film the rest if we had used his phone. My other group members phone was dying and it also barely had any storage. When I got to the scene, I suggested that we use a professional camera. One of my group members already had one and she knew how to use it really well. I thought this would be a great way to make the production look as real as possible. I was very excited to see how it would turn out. Howe

Peer Review Blog

I have asked 2 of my other close friends to peer review the blog. I trusted them because they are normally very honest. I knew they wouldn't lie to me once given the task. Also, they wouldn't be really mean about. They are normally very sweet people and that's why I chose them. Their names are Lyne Thervil and Ella Agnese but she also goes by Valentina so that's what I will refer to her on here as well. I sent Lyne the video and gave her about 2 days to watch it. She forgot but it's okay cause I totally understand that she may be busy. However, when I reminded her she was very sorry and she did it right away. At first, she complimented the music playing in the background. She said it gave a very eerie feeling. She also complimented my acting skills since I was the main actor in this production. A third element she complimented was a certain scene when Nala's (the main character in the production) future self comes from the dark. Lyne said it scared her. This i
